Georgian Lady Justice Miniature Portrait Ring Add Inscription:No Marks: London import marksA remarkable Georgian period portrait ring, circa 1790, with a depiction of Lady Justice, the allegorical personification of the moral force in judicial systems, in miniature and complete with her scales and sword. Although the personification of justice holding scales dates back to ancient Egypt the goddess Maat and, later, Isis Lady Justice in this iteration is based on the ancient Roman deity Iustitia (or Justitia). Since the 16th century she has
