V for Victory Beethoven's 5th Symphony Music Note Pin equipment These are dated May 1944Vintage 1940s WWII V for victory pin with music notes from Beethoven's Symphony No. 5. During the war, it was referred to as the "Victory Symphony" since V is the Roman numeral for 5. The opening phrase of "dit dit dit dah" was also used as the letter V in Morse code. The BBC would often preface broadcasts to SOE with those four notes. The pin is in good condition with light wear.
